Bummer! I ordered the hardcover edition and was hoping to get it signed at San Diego. I’m flying out for the convention on Wednesday morning, so it sounds like it’ll be arriving at my comic shop just as I’m flying overhead. Any chance you’ll be doing any East Coast appearances?

very cool pat.
i wish the squid was purple tho
Shane,
I suspected straight-up purple might be too much for the medium because it’s so vibrant and out of the ordinary… you know, drawing attention to the squid and taking away from the rest… even though it is more technically accurate… but I never actually tried it so I went ahead and adjusted it to see how it would look: http://img394.imageshack.us/img394/7484/jeffsquidpurplemw9.jpg
I still say it’s probably too much. What do you think?
it still looks too pink to me.
i was thinking something almost like this…

Hi Pat:
Awesome! I like the pale purple you used, because it works better with the green legs. It’s an awesome interpretation of the 2D drawing. With the way Super Hero movies are selling at the box office, a 3D Scud movie really seems like a possibility. Rob, you know you can do it. You could get this thing made.
wow that Jeff looks amazing. Giving me more fuel for my fire, i can’t wait to see what you came up with! i’m over here busting my ass trying to get my piece done. good luck man
Make the orange brighter and the purple darker. Like issue eight (if you have it). Gotta stay true to the book. Good work though, regardless of color.
I’d say, do what ever you think best, Paul. Counsel thinking is no way to put a film together. All your going to do is chase your tail, running around to please everyone. Pick a direction and go for it.
Everyone else should put their energy into making their own shorts instead of giving notes on other people’s work.
Right on! I’m recording music for mine today. Hope to have it up by tonight, or tomorrow. Can’t wait to show everyone what I got.
are “tales from the vending machine” going to be in this trade as well? mahfood and kaniuga? eh, eh?
The Oversized One-Volume edition of Scud entitled “Scud The Disposable Assassin: The Whole Shebang!” will be released on July 23rd 2008 as stated on his website and contain issues 1-24 plus “Drywall: Unzipped”. 2008 and Black Octopus: Sexy Geinus.[citation needed]
Rob Schrab has stated that he currently has no plans for further issues of Scud Spin-offs – Scud: Tales from the Vending Machine, and The Drywall & Oswald Show.
In a closing interview conducted by Doug Tennapel at the send of Issue #24 Rob stated that La Cosa Nostroid could be concluded, but that it would be up to Dan Harmon, who helmed the series.
Done.
Here’s the link.
Rob,
That’s the second time you’ve called me Paul.
I took some time to think about the squid, actually, and while pink seemed to be the popular choice among my friends, I think you knew what you were doing when you went with purple. The complementary colors integrate Jeff out of all these disparate pieces. It’s very smart. So I went with purple.
RedTiger, I always go pale with my colors because super high saturation in 3D has a tendency to light unnaturally and generally just look crappy. So there’s the method to that madness.
So how do I bug the hell out of Dan Harmon to finish up LA COSA NOSTROID?
