This baby looks absolutely smashing. It’s unreal. It looks hand-painted. It’s…not the action figure, right? I can see the reasoning behind a limited run of statues, but limiting all those cool posable figures you’ve been showing us the turn-arounds to, to only 400 pieces would be a crime.
Its the 7” testshot we didn’t use and felt bad having to waste anything SCUD and made it our NYCC exclusive for fans =) Its pre-posed in a pose Rob approved and looks great and has the bullseye base. I think I see a vending machine box in the distance as well!
You can get em directly here http://www.shockertoys.com/store.php
So that’s the photo of a statue, not the figure right?
It is actually the figure test-shot in 7” form; the pieces were assembled into a pre-pose as the material used was not strong enough for articulation. The action figures is still in tooling which takes at least 45days before you can get an ABS copy that is functional. But as stated above we didn’t want to waste the 7” prototype so we used it for NYCC to make a great display. Everyone who gets one can also use the base for your 6” action figure due out in July or have them stand back to back on it ready to terminate each other!
Badass!! Just picked one up off the website.
Ditto!
Wait till you see the box =)
So the ones we’re getting shipped that we ordered off the page come in said sweet box, too, yeah?
word i picked two up…
i dont see as much articulation in these photos as the prototypes before? how much articulation is there?
Read above.
ahh so you couldnt get a material dense enough to hold the articulation eh?
regardless this is badass.
oh wait, i think im a dumbass hah.
so there is going to be this figure thats an exclusive but the regular action figure is released in july?
The reg action figure wont be as large only standing in at 6” and will not have the bullseye base. I am really happy we didn’t scrap the 7”er though the detail on it cam out so nice. And the same factory will be doing the 6” line of figures from Indie Spotlight so they will be very well done. Rob don’t forget the vending machine
so we get TWO figures now?
jesus christ thats so awesome! seriously great job shocker! its been a long but VERY worthwhile wait. i bought an extra too, i might make a SOL out of him…
Very cool Can’t wait to see the ‘SOL’ version make sure to show pictures at our website’s forum www.shockertoys.com/forum . Oh also ‘SOL’ will be a variant figure in the 6” action figure line as well. I think ROB has pictures of the SCUD and SOL indie spotlight 6” figures up.
Oh man, U.S. shipping only.
What am I as a merry Brit to do!?
But you get Mighty Boosh and Dr. Who series Four!
Gah! Dr Who is going to be ruined by one woman, Cathren Tate. I truly hate that woman. Then again I’m more a fan of stand up comedy.
DW is eternal. If it can survive JNT’s question mark collars it can survive anything. I actual liked Tate in the previous Christmas episode.
All things Scud are turning out great. Toys. Conclusions. Am I pushing it to dream of a Scud Lite action figure?
“I actual liked Tate in the previous Christmas episode.”
I’m too used to her very “League of Gentlemen” and “Little Britain” style comedy. It’s taking an old idea (this case “Spitting Image”, taking someone’s mannerisms and making them massive for all to see) and just doing it for a new audience.
Then again, all TV and films now seem to do the same thing. Take an old idea and mess with it to make it new.
I still think she’s going to ruin it.
“Am I pushing it to dream of a Scud Lite action figure?”
Dear sweet jebus that would be awesome, bet I still wouldn’t be able to buy it.
Big_Adam,
If you really want a figure, and you’re prepared to pay whatever exorbitant postage it will take (and given the strength of the Euro, you might be), shoot me a line at mc_ruggedAThotmail.com; you can order it c/o my US address and I’ll ship it through to you whatever way you deem best (at your cost of course).
Boosh is good, but Python still reign supreme.
How about a little show called “Look Around You” (series 2, specifically)?
Pure. Comedic. (British) Gold.
And yes, a Scud Lite figure would be awesome.
My only tiny complaint about the Sol figure is that (I assume) it’s only a repaint of the 1373, and not an elongated, spider-like one that was the reason the Sol was kind of ‘alien’ and creepy compared to our hero in the first place. But it’s still pretty awesome that we’re getting one at all. (Speaking of, Shocker Toys guy, how rare will said Sol be?)
This is all so fun and exciting! Thanks again, Rob/Shocker/Kate/everyone!
This is great! only thing that would make it is if rob would come to ny comic con and sign the target base for me (just me no one else jk)
This is great! only thing that would make it better is if rob would come to ny comic con and sign the target base for me (just me no one else jk)
“If you really want a figure, and you’re prepared to pay whatever exorbitant postage it will take (and given the strength of the Euro, you might be),”
Tread lightly Mr Ant. I’m British, one of the few things Mr Blair did right was NOT going for the Euro. We work on the Great British Pound, which has been at a 1:2 exchange rate with the dollar for a while (£1 = $2, well it’s $1.9 to the pound).
The Euro is rubbish though. Anywho, my fathers going over to the Americas soon for training. I’ll see if he’ll pick one up. Thanks for the offer though.
Ethan Harper SOL will be a variant so he will be available but less in a case compared to the rest of the line.
I know I’m new around here, but I’ve been watching the news of this for a while.
The figure looks great, and I can’t wait for it. Any chance it’ll come with this gun ( http://www.scud.com/ScudImage/Books/Scud3.GIF )? That’s always been one of my favorite comic covers, and it’d be awesome if I didn’t have to scratch-build the gun to recreate the pose!
LOL thats a big gun maybe it could be a mail away!
I just bought it! Looking forward to it!
looks great… maybe a drywall figure could be in the works? with multiple hands holding a buncha stuff.
Shocker, that’d be awesome. I’d be the first to order one.
I am stoked to try and make my own armor to attach to the scud figure:
http://www.scud.com/ScudImage/Books/Scud16.gif
Yea I like the armor on the new SCUD issue as well. When the action figure hits in July I think alot of people will be customizing them.
I’m with Big_Adam on this… Except the UK is still better than Aus… (We don’t even make any good TV!)
We haven’t had any UK customers yet but a few Canada ones. If anyone is overseas and wants one just pop us an email to: info [@] shockertoys [.] com. I think it says that on our store too.
Rob, and Shocker, the both of you should be very proud of yourselves, this is an end result that I certainly couldn’t have foreseen. I’ll certainly be ording the figure, and hope to get my hands on the exclusive. As soon as I get my hands on them, I’ll be adding them to my collection on www.micurio.com which is a show and tell site for all sorts of collectibles.
Please be sure to check out our site if you all get a chance, we’d love to see anything and everything you’re willing to share with us!
Thanks George. We love SCUD and the pre-posed figure and the action figure both came out great, ‘SOL’ too. If you are at NYCC be sure to stop by and say hi!
I like the SOL figure, but I really wish he was spidery like the other guy said. Any chance whether you could just give him the long lanky arms just to differentiate the figures? Probably too late. Oh well.
Yea the action figures are in tooling already and basically ‘SOL’ was picked and the picture provided was the SCUD body so it was a great way to get an extra figure out there for SCUD fans as a variant. Maybe we can do a ‘SOL’ exclusive pre-posed figurine with the Spider arms for another show.
@ Shocker, I will be in touch soon!
On an entirely different note. Dr Who is on in a bit. Soon I shall know if CT is any good.
NO SPOILERS!
Well, I’ll say this.
Theme tunes been messed with and it’s all a bit mild now (BBC bumped up the time slot to an earlier time). I still liked it but I’m not a hardcore Dr Who fan. Few of my mates say it’s starting to go downhill.
Well our pre-order limit is almost done. So if you still want SCUD make sure to get your orders in. And Canada orders email us first so we can give you instructions it is $5 extra for shipping. Also once the limit is reached you will only be able to get your SCUDs from NYCC on site. And for everyone attending NYCC, See you all the show!
Any chance you’ll be selling individual figures from the Shocker site once the normal action figures are released?
Yes the action figures will be sold direct as well.
scud v1, still being worked on,
http://srm.freehostia.com/scud/
I’m from Brazil and I just ordered mine.thumbs up and happy-happy face
I love the game!!! Thanks, adi!
wow thanks rob, i want the finished version to tell the whole story, well at least the main bits. its a very inspiring comic, i might have missed it if it wasnt for the shocker toys figures
Just pre-ordered mine! Can’t wait!!! DAYUM!
I love this vid it was done by timefissure studios.
Yo rob throw up the new packaged SCUD NYCC pics if you can I don’t know if I can post pics here.
Anyone know where I can pre-order the SCUD and SOL figures from? I missed SCUD on BBTS, and I don’t see them on the Shocker site.
Hya everyone the NYCC show was great.
bad news/good news 1 box of SCUD NYCC exclusives arrived on Monday after the show (hungup in customs) so we have placed the limited 48pcs online at our store for anyone who didn’t get them. People were mad we didn’t have any left on last day of show to sell.
First come First serve www.shockertoys.com/store.php
Question: Will Shocker toys be handing any figures out at San Diego Comic-Con? And if so, will it come with the badass vending machine box?
We will be selling products lines and exclusive lines at SDCC with some handouts at our panel. As far as the vending machine goes it was only for NYCC and there a few left at the link int he post above yours.
Question, Shocker Toys guy: If I wasn’t at NYCC but ordered my statue from the website, does it still come in the sweet vending machine box?
Thanks again!
Yes Ethan if you order it from the site it still comes in the sweet vending machine box. Alas there is but a few left.
